Who doesn’t love reminiscing about the skiing camps they attended in earlier years? Those turns on the snow, the magical evenings back at the camp and, of course, the disco at the end. Unfortunately, an increasing number of schools have decided not to run snow sports camps anymore. This may be for financial reasons, or because the organisational effort seems to be too much, or because they want to avoid all the responsibility. This shouldn’t be happening, so in 2014 an alliance of sports, tourism, education and government organisations founded the "Schneesportinitiative Schweiz" association. The association publicises all-inclusive offers for snow sports camps and days on
GoSnow.ch for schools from all over Switzerland, and these can be booked with a few clicks and at attractive prices. Everything is included, from transport, accommodation and hired equipment to mountain railway tickets – with the option of snow sports lessons. This minimises the organisational burden for teachers, and the costs for both school and parents are no more than for an autumn class camp.
