In the Gault Millau restaurant Blausee gourmets can not only enjoy freshly-caught trout, but also spectacular views of the Bernese Alps and the turquoise water. A short walk through the nature park or a tour on the Blausee with a glass-bottom boat adds to the feeling of relaxation. If you like walking, you should try the hiking trails, which run over a total of 600 km. The routes along the Oeschinensee offer particularly beautiful vistas. The lake, which stretches over 111 ha and is part of the UNESCO World Heritage, is said to be one of Switzerland’s most beautiful lakes. Relaxing picnics, fun on the mountain coaster, a tour with a rowing boat, winter hiking or ice fishing – the nature reserve offers an abundance of activities. The Kandertal ski area is small but lovely: it greets winter sports enthusiasts with 25 km of slopes, four ski lifts and one chairlift. The Nordic Arena at the entrance to the village of Kandersteg is home to the spectacular ski jumps of the national Nordic ski centre.
