Harder Kulm, Interlaken

Harder Kulm

Interlaken’s local mountain is located at 1,322 m. The short journey to the Harder Kulm only takes 10 minutes – which leaves more time to enjoy the views of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.

The Harder Kulm’s views are simply compelling. From the Two-Lake-Footbridge, visitors enjoy a 360-degree vista of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau as well as Lake Thun and Lake Brienz. If you don’t suffer from vertigo, you should peek through the glass floor of the viewing platform. After the 2-km hike along the panoramic trails, the Restaurant Harder Kulm is the perfect jolly place to refresh and to enjoy Swiss dishes and folk music.

Explore the mountain from the comfort of the funicular

The Harderbahn funicular is special, when it comes to funicular railways. Instead of heading straight up the mountain, it takes a scenic route of almost 90 degrees around the mountain. In approximately 10 minutes, it transports visitors from Interlaken to the Harder Kulm. And it does not only do this during the day: a trip in the evening is a very special experience. With the sun setting in the background, passengers particularly enjoy the ride to the top of the mountain.

The extended and steep climb leads hikers along a narrow ridge and through a forest. And those who persevere are rewarded with magnificent views of the surrounding area.
