Engstligenalp, Adelboden: golfing at 2,000 m above sea level
The highest 18-hole pop-up golf course on the Engstligenalp boasts an unrivalled scenery. While golfing instructors are on hand to patiently induct beginners into the secrets of alpine golfing, pro golfers will head straight for the course to tackle its mountain streams and tricky wind and weather conditions. Tip: After completing your round, why not enjoy a home-made raclette at the Raclette Hut?

Adelboden-Lenk: Spotting migrating birds up on the Hahnenmoos Pass
Autumn is often the time of year when large flocks of birds are seen flying south. These migrating birds always take the same routes and one such route takes them above the Hahnenmoos Pass. Each year Bern’s ornithological society invites guests to attend its international migratory bird day to watch this unique phenomenon.

Kandersteg: Indian summer in the unspoilt valley of Gasterntal
Autumn with its mild temperatures and blaze of golden colours is the perfect time of year to explore the Gasterntal valley. This high-alpine valley is the starting point for lots of hiking tours, for instance to the Gasterespitz and Lötschen Pass. Less elevated, but no less spectacular is the approx. three-hour hike from the Berghotel Waldhaus to Selden, which follows the Kander and takes you along mountain pastures and cosy resting places.

Engstligenalp: A cosy raclette get-together inside a cowshed
Once summer is over, the cows are brought down from their grazing pastures. It’s also the time of year when this alpine hut (or cowshed, to be more precise) run by the Aellig family up on the Engstligenalp is turned into a raclette hut. With its snug atmosphere and tasty raclettes the dairy hut is the perfect spot to while away a few hours. Foodies, hikers and golfers alike all enjoy ending the day here with a generous helping of cheese and a decent drop of wine.
