The original idea, to keep winter sports fans in the region even at the end of the season, has developed into an event that is easily viable on its own. Proof is the SnowpenAir’s musical lineup which features well-established contemporary stars and artists in front of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains. In the past, stars such as Joe Cocker, Laura Pausini, Uriah Heap and Bryan Adams performed on stage. National musicians also form an integral part of the stage show which is on for 2 consecutive days. The SnowpenAir is only accessible via the mountain railway. From Interlaken, take the train to Grindelwald or Lauterbrunnen. From there, the Wengernalp Railway will bring you to Switzerland’s biggest music winter event.
A festival of high spirits
It is not surprising that the SnowpenAir is Switzerland’s highest open-air music festival. At 2,061 m, festivalgoers are greeted with an unparalleled atmosphere. The icy scenery and the mountain panorama turn the artists’ performances into a very special experience. Given the low temperatures, it is worth bringing some earmuffs, warm boots and your winter clothing. Arm yourself with warm food and drinks to prevent cold feet. Alternatively, let the performers heat up the atmosphere and keep dancing to beat the cold.snowpenair.ch
