Hospitality, a cosmopolitan outlook and cultural exchanges: these are the mainstays of Biel’s Lakelive Festival. It is not just a music festival like so many others, but a venue for people everywhere to come together. The arts and culture professionals of the town of Biel and surroundings offer an entertaining accompanying programme on the festival grounds. And of course Biel’s lakeside bay is the perfect spot for trying out a wide range of water sports in, on and by the water, with the fun aspect of exercise guaranteed. A key aspect of the event is the multi-lingual environment and the friendly get-together of different cultures in a spirit of celebration.
Dancing to hot rhythms
Diversity with a capital ‘D’ is the order of the day when it comes to music at the Lakelive Festival Biel. There are plenty of treats in store for fans of pop, reggae, electro and latin, with something to suit every musical taste. Indeed, there are separate Latin, Swiss, Urban and Pop Nights. So plenty of highlights, then, from home-grown talents to national and international stars and bands performing on Biel’s lakeshore, on stages big and small – for fans young and not to young. A festival of joie de vivre that simply should not be missed. Summer doesn’t get much more beautiful than this.
