Snow parks and fun parks

Here is an overview of the diverse snow parks and fun parks throughout the Bernese Oberland.

Gran Masta Park

Adelboden-Lenk
Gran Masta Park, Adelboden-Lenk

The Gran Masta Park in the Silleren-Hahnenmoos-Metsch region is designed to set the pulse of all freestyle skiers and snowboarders racing. As one of Switzerland’s biggest snow parks, it never ceases to thrill with new kickers, rails, and other obstacles shaped every day. The legendary Gran Masta Bar, cool events, and concerts make for a perfect day’s snowboarding and freeskiing. So it’s good to know that complimentary use of the park is included in the Adelboden-Lenk ski passes.

The two Audi Ski Cross adventures in Adelboden and Lenk are each just under one kilometre in length and offer plenty of thrills for the whole family. In Adelboden, the young and not-so-young have the opportunity to race over waves and jumps or take on the giant slalom course at the Aebi-Sillerenbühl ski lift. At Lenk, the Gold Park begins at the Hasler ski lift and guarantees heaps of snow fun with some cheeky pistes and steep walled curves.

Hauptpiste Bühlberg, Lenk

Switzerland’s longest funslope at Lenk is in a class of its own – and not just because of its dynamic steep turns and snow waves. The thrilling special obstacles all the way down the 800 m Bühlberg piste at the Bühlberg-Hahnenmoos chairlift are heaps of fun for the whole family! And once the speed booster has got you on your way, Slopy the mascot awaits across the finishing line.

Running in parallel is the SnowparkCRAZY with its rails, steep turns and jumps, perfect for practising all sorts of tricks and moves. The ideal combination for families with children of different ages.

With snow guaranteed at 2,500 m above sea level, an early start to the skiing season is not a dream. The Snowpark Grindelwald-First benefits from the natural topography of the terrain itself, so far less effort is required to make the snow park even more of a dream for the snowboarding and free-skiing community. Besides the large half-pipe, the Bärgelegg and Oberjoch Parks boast freshly shaped kickers, rails and boxes, guaranteeing a perfect flow.

Today, the amazing jumps on show at the Skyline Snow Park Schilthorn are even more spectacular than those once performed by James Bond as he raced down from Piz Gloria into the valley. Obstacles to suit all levels are to be found at the Kandahar chairlift, enticing free skiers and snowboarders alike. With so many kickers, rails, boxes, wall rides and lollipops, there’s barely any time to admire the views of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.

There’s plenty of fun and creativity on display up on the Balisalp near Käserstatt in the Haslital. The Balis Park is always packed with new courses, hollows and ski jumps, making it the ideal spot to go ‘Balistic’. Winter after winter, with the help of snowboard enthusiasts, the piste creators prepare original and diverse rails and boxes that are strikingly unique and never fail to delight all riders.

Temperatures up on the Jungfraujoch often rise above zero over the summer months, even though it is located well over 3,000 m above sea level. Ideal conditions, then, for gliding above the Aletsch Glacier, Europe’s longest, on the zip line at the Snow Fun Park and for admiring the eternal ice from the air. The snow down below is also the perfect spot to take in the magnificent panoramic views while enjoying a refreshment or two at the bar.
