Relaxing hikes and adrenaline-filled paragliding flights
“Valley of the waterfalls” is a perfect name to describe Lauterbrunnen; after all, there are 72 waterfalls in the area. Number one is the Staubbach Falls.
At the Trümmelbach Falls visitors get a hands-on experience of this spectacle of nature: they are brought by lift into the mountain’s interior where they can observe 10 waterfalls carrying the meltwater of the glaciers. Freeride fans should head to the Grütsch Trail, which offers ten to twenty minutes uninterrupted mountain biking for experienced bikers. Treasure hunts, museums, full moon baths and a 16-km-long cross-country skiing trail complement the varied programme.
With UNESCO on tour
Nature lovers will find out interesting facts on the six UNESCO theme trails. They present the local flora and fauna, describe local places of spiritual power and mountain hotels and provide insights into alpine farming. Information panels provide suitable information and guide hikers in the right direction.
