Get to know peaks on ski tours away from the beaten paths
The sun is shining, the new snow is crunching under the skis and the peaks of the region loom closer: on ski tours, experienced tourers can enjoy sport and nature in equal measure.
Those looking for a sensational view can choose the tour from the Jungfraujoch to the Aletsch Glacier to the Konkordiahütte. Snowboarders and skiers travel to the Uf Spitzen and ski down on the northern or southern slopes. A special experience awaits adrenalin junkies in the form of heli-skiing. Participants have themselves flown to 4,000 metres above sea level by helicopter, and then speed down the glacier. Also recommended are the freerides with experienced mountain guides: they know the most beautiful off-piste routes and judge risks expertly. Visitors who prefer to take things easier, or have only a little ski tour experience, take a taster course or allow themselves to be pampered on pleasure tours.
Village, land, river
At Interlaken, the Naturpark Diemtigtal is the ideal starting point for ski tours. Visitors soon reach Meniggrat or Wiriehorn and are rewarded with a fantastic view of the park. In the Destination Gstaad, beginners and experts get their money’s worth: either on simple routes from the Voralpenberg or on demanding high-altitude ski tours.
Enjoy pure freedom and nature
In the Simmental, winter sportspeople have a free choice. Pfaffen, Puntel, Hündsrügg and many other tours show the most beautiful side of nature for four to four-and-a-half hours. As you pass streams, pastures, passes, alpine huts, and forests, you can see the region from its varied side. Once the destination has been reached, one enjoys the descent through the freshly fallen new snow.
