A winter paradise for snow sports fans
Countless kilometres of slopes are waiting for skiers and snowboarders, but the Region of Bern has many other winter sports that are just waiting to be explored.
Breathtaking mountain panorama and almost unlimited possibilities, that’s what makes the ski areas in the Region of Bern special. The region is among the pioneers of winter sports destinations. The Hotel Baer in Grindelwald, for example, opened its doors for the first time in winter 1888. Today the ski areas of Adelboden-Lenk, Gstaad, Grindelwald, Mürren or Hasliberg offer fun in the snow for sports lovers of all ages and all levels – whether it is skiing, snowboarding, freeriding, telemark skiing, freestyle, cross-country or going on a ski tour. Around 800 km of slopes and 224 ski lifts are waiting for skiers and snowboarders in the Bernese Oberland. The mountains of the Bernese Oberland can also be explored on sleds or on foot.
