From beginners to professionals: the Canton of Bern caters for all levels of cross-country skiers who are enthralled by the perfectly groomed trails and beautiful panoramic views complemented by a sense of well-being.
From simple to challenging, from short to long, from level to steep: The Bernese Oberland offers the perfect cross-country skiing trail for every taste. In Bern, Kandersteg is known as the land of cross-country skiing. The loop trails which are freshly prepared on a daily basis offer an abundance of variety. Whether during the day or at night, for beginners or for experienced skiers, the network of more than 100 km of cross-country skiing trails offers the right level of difficulty for everyone. The Gstaad Region also tends to the skiers every need: The different sub-regions cater for all levels of cross-country skiing. Cross-country skiers have the choice of a total of 14 classic cross-country skiing trails, 14 skating cross-country skiing trails, 2 floodlight cross-country trails, 2 dog cross-country trails as well as a high-altitude cross-country skiing trail which is also open in summer.

Bern offers perfect cross-country skiing conditions – whether for training or for leisure

Cross-country skiing fans find everything they need right on Bern’s doorstep. Every year the cross-country skiing centre Gantrisch (German) prepares a 45-km-long network of perfectly groomed trails which consists of different main and side cross-country trails. Neither beginners nor professionals will be disappointed by the Bernese Jura: 50 km of perfectly prepared cross-country skiing trails run between Les Prés-d’Orvin and the Chasseral. Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen and Gadmen spoil cross-country skiers with beautiful panoramic views.
