Adrenaline rush guaranteed

Away from the tarmac roads, to feel nature under the wheels and to take in the views: mountain bike tours promise freedom, adventure and thrills.
In the Bernese Oberland it is all about working up a sweat. There are more than 180 mountain bike routes to discover. On the tour from Meiringen to the Engstlenalp ambitious mountain bikers have to cover a distance of 50 km and a height difference of 1710 m. Once they arrive on top, they can stop at the lake Engstlensee to recharge before it goes down again. In summer, Gstaad is a magnet for cross-country bikers. The 300 km of mountain bike trails change between fast-paced to leisurely. The Bernese Unterland also has a lot to offer: Bikers will find a suitable challenge in the Nature Park Gantrisch, which offers 200 km of bike routes. The Gurten lets the hearts of downhill fans beat faster. The trail runs over 2 km and provides bikers with jumps of up to 10 m and different banked curves.

Our tips

A route for every taste

The three mountain destinations Adelboden, Lenk and Kandersteg enthral with their offer of mountain bike trails. The best-known tours in Kandersteg lead to lake Oeschinensee, to Gasterntal or via the Gemmi Pass. Adelboden is known for the AUDI FIS SKI WORLD CUP in winter, but the world cup slope also has a lot to offer in summer: the mountain bike trail starts at the valley station Sillerenbahn and ascends to the Chuenisbärgli. A great variety of trails can be found in Lenk with its 11 mountain bike trails that are waiting to be discovered. The offer ranges from tarmac roads to natural paths and even through difficult mountain terrain.
