GoSnow.ch Swiss Snow Sports Initiative

The Swiss Snow Sports Initiative promotes snow sports camps for schools all over Switzerland. With our all-inclusive offers at very attractive prices, schools are encouraged to make increasing use of snow sports camps.

The cantonal tourism organisation, BE! Tourismus AG, specifically supports offers from within the canton of Bern, especially in the Bernese Oberland, and would like to ensure that our school students enjoy enduring Made in Bern snow sports experiences.

Snow sports camps in the canton of Bern now even more attractive

Snow sports camps in the canton of Bern are now more attractive than ever. With an additional CHF50.- per participant, BE! Tourismus AG supports all snow sports camp offers that are "Made in Bern" on GoSnow.ch. On average, a snow sports camp in the canton of Bern with all the trimmings costs only CHF 250.- per child, with half-board! This is intended to encourage our schools to arrange most of their snow sports camps in the canton of Bern.
Creating lasting memories
Who doesn’t love reminiscing about the skiing camps they attended in earlier years? Those turns on the snow, the magical evenings back at the camp and, of course, the disco at the end. Unfortunately, an increasing number of schools have decided not to run snow sports camps anymore. This may be for financial reasons, or because the organisational effort seems to be too much, or because they want to avoid all the responsibility. This shouldn’t be happening, so in 2014 an alliance of sports, tourism, education and government organisations founded the "Schneesportinitiative Schweiz" association. The association publicises all-inclusive offers for snow sports camps and days on gosnow.ch for schools from all over Switzerland, and these can be booked with a few clicks and at attractive prices. Everything is included, from transport, accommodation and hired equipment to mountain railway tickets – with the option of snow sports lessons. This minimises the organisational burden for teachers, and the costs for both school and parents are no more than for an autumn class camp.

Potential future guests
Harry John, Director of BE! Tourismus AG puts it this way: "School students should be having their unforgettable snow sports experiences at ski resorts within the canton of Bern. We would be delighted if today's children return later as adult customers." The initiators believe that snow sports in Switzerland is an important cultural asset and that it is critically important for the enhancement of the sporting activities of the general population and for the education of our children, as well as for the future of winter tourism. President Tanja Frieden, herself a trained teacher and 2006 snowboard cross olympic champion, is excited about the commitment by BE! Tourismus AG: "All the operators are interested in enhancing the cultural asset of snow sports and are committed to doing so at great prices. I am particularly pleased that the people of Bern are pioneering this and are especially promoting the "Made in Bern" offers."
