The Gurten Festival has come a long way from its first event, when the stage lighting was missing, to being now one of the most important music festivals in Switzerland.
The best combination of music, entertainment and cuisine
Today, the event offers more musical variety than ever – it has developed from a pure folk festival to a hot spot for artists, such as The Muse, Franz Ferdinand, Kraftklub or The Lumineers. Both established and aspiring names in the Swiss music scene have also got a permanent place at the festival. Apart from the musical entertainment, the food street look after the visitors’ physical wellbeing. When the weather is nice, the party atmosphere can last long into the night, thanks to overnight stays in sleeping bags. But even when the weather is unkind, it fails to ruin the good mood of the real festival fans. They simply put their rain macs or ponchos on and continue with the party.
